After searching to understand why I need a 10 step skincare routine, I realize sometimes no right number will get you the perfect skin. When you are searching for healthy skin you just have to be consistent with a routine.

That being said, I took years, 7 to be exact, of trial and error before I got a skin routine. Despite many challenging and feeling overwhelmed with my hormonal acne, Now I’ve got a better skincare routine. So, you shall we get into the nitty-gritty of how I build my 10 step skincare routine.

THE 10 STEP SKINCARE ROUTINE ESSENTIALS

While these skincare steps have evolved over the years, some steps remain fixed in my morning or evening routine.

With this in mind, if you don’t have a skincare routine you should see a skincare expert and get it! Because you’ll understand your genetics, and what lifestyle changes to add for beautiful skin.

So, there are essential steps you should not skip. Okay, without further ado, let us get into this.

HOW TO BUILD 10 STEPS FOR SKINCARE ROUTINE

My steps for skincare routine is categorized in the following order:

  • Cleansing
  • Treating
  • Nourishing
  • Protecting

CLEANSING

Cleansing is essential to remove dirt, dullness, unclog pores and unnecessary oil.

Cleansing is crucial to remove the dirt. I always start my morning with a gentle face cleanser for your skin.

DOUBLE CLEANSING

The evening cleansing may be different if you have worn makeup. You should start double-cleansing with an oil cleanser or a cleanser balm follow by your nighttime cleaners.

TONING

Toners are necessary for your beauty routine. Sometimes you want an extra cleaning to really get into your skin, so find products that clean your pores, restores PH balance and refreshes the skin. And if you want some options check these out.

MASK

Masking is my favorite routine. It recuses my skin from excess oils, impurities and improves your pores. When my skin feels dry and unclean I enjoy these masks listed below.

ESSENCE

Essence is a product new to my skincare routine. After watching an Asian Youtuber I was influenced that my skin needs essence. It’s a hydrating liquid that prepares the skin for your products.

So, here are the recommendation that I’ve purchased and love.

SERUMS

Sometimes I get overwhelmed with serums. As too many options to choose from. But I’ve learned to get one that activates, firm, smooth and locks in moisture. And these are my go-to choices, hyaluronic acid, Vitamin C serum, Retinol Serum for anti-ageing, Recovery/Plumming Serum.

EYE CREAM

At times I skip this step, but eye cream is an essential step in your skincare routine. My favorite eye creams, but not limited are Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Creme. And my others are Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair and Lancome Light-Pearl eye illuminator.

NOURISHING

Our skin goes through harsh conditions every day from the environment and cleansing. So, you should not skip moisturizing which replenishes the skin.

MOISTURIZING

My current moisturizers are Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve, Olehenriksen C-rush vitamin C gel and Youth to the People Superfood Hyaluronic Acid. But I have so many moisturizer that I might have to write a post.

PROTECTING

Please don’t forsake this step! I’m not judging you but if you want to protect your skin from cancer and other skin diesases wear SPF.

When selecting a sunscreen look for one that contains the following ingredients zinc, titanium oxide, oxybenzone or ecamsule. But here are my favorite at the moment.

VITAMINS

You should add vitamins to your skincare routine. It may sound out of context, but it is an integral skincare step. Especially if you want beautiful skin from the inside. I’ll recommend these vitamims and it’s incredibly – The skin food; the collagen booster or Olly beauty.

    I admire your determination with your skincare routine. Most times I start off hot and fall off 😂😂 I just need products that would help me skip this 10 step process 😳 but I love these tips 👌🏾

      I find when it comes to my skin, it is challenging to skip some process. Trust me there are days my routine has more than 10. 😂 But you should start with the four basic and move on from there. The habit will soon develop. 😉
