Sure, I think everyone knows how to make banana bread – but do you get the ingredients to make the best and easy vegan banana bread? I spy on google trends and saw lots of banana bread recipes. I’m sure you noticed it too. So, I’ll share my own tasty, healthier, vegan and gluten-free banana bread here on the blog.
Now, I’ll share a simple vegan banana bread made without sugar and eggs. And one of my secret ingredients is Angostura bitters from Trinidad and Tobago. I’m very impressed with the flavor it gives these vegan banana bread. To be honest, my favorite is the signature Orange Banana Bread.
This recipe is adapted from the traditional methods, but I appended it.

WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE YOUR EASY BANANA BREAD
Here is what you need before baking making the best banana bread.
STEP 1
- A Stand Mixer or any mixer
- Baking Spoon
- Loaf Pan
- Parchment paper
- Measuring cups & spoons
- Handheld Grater
SIMPLE VEGAN BANANA BREAD RECIPE
ORANGE BANANA BREAD
STEP 2
Ingredients
- 4 overripe banana (the riper the sweeter)
- 2 cups Almond flour
- 1/2 cup Gluten-free flour
- 1/4 cup vegan butter
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- 1 tsp Angostura bitters *(or vanilla extract)
- 1 cup plant-based milk *(hazelnut milk it’s the best)
- Zest of 1 orange
- 1/2 cup raisins *
*Optional ingredient
*A quick tip you can incorporate flaxseed egg replacement or honey for this recipe, but I opted not to.
STEP 3
Baking
- Preheat the oven to 350 F and line your loaf pan with parchment paper. Or spray with nonstick avocado oil spray. This step is so essential for easy removal.
- Peel ripe bananas and mash in a large bowl with a fork until smooth.
- Combine dry ingredients – flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg, cinnamon, raisins in mixer bowl.
- Combine milk, angostura bitters or vanilla extract, butter, zest into the mixture.
- Once the mixture is combined and smooth pour into loft pan; sprinkle some orange zest on top.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.
STEP 4
So, take the banana bread out the oven and cool on a wire rack.
