I’ve asked myself so many times, “Is PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) treatable?” This is a disease I’ve battled for years. PCOS diagnosis is emotional, but it’s time to bring more PCOS Awareness. Also, I thought it was a good time to kick off my PCOS diagnosis symptoms journey. Besides, I had previously mentioned this journey in a post. So now I am penning my story.

Before I share this post, I recommend seeking professional guidance and doing your research, as PCOS affects every individual differently. Also, my views are not aimed against medicine or medical advice, but to share what worked for me. Therefore, you should make changes to fit your life. It’s time to find out how I can change my PCOS diagnosis to plant-based.

How Do You Treat a PCOS Diagnosis

So, I’ve struggled long enough with PCOS for 12 years! That’s when I decided it’s time to press the reset button and get my hormones in check. I was tired and ready to regulate my mood, heavy, painful period, ovarian cyst, acne, weight gain, hair loss, swollen, tender breasts, as well as thyroid issues. I’m sure you’re with me as to why I’m tired and need a change. With that, you too might need to read this post and say goodbye to your PCOS diagnosis symptoms and some of the mentioned difficulties.

But how do you cope with a PCOS diagnosis? There’s no magic formula. It’s simple, maintaining a healthy mindset the natural way!

So, this year marks 15 years with PCOS. I will admit it was an emotional journey. Before I was diagnosed, I had heavy and irregular periods, which caused me to be dependent on an iron supplement.

As a result of low iron, I suffered hair loss, brittle nails, and felt continuously weak. I remember walking a few blocks to work and feeling lightheaded, so I rested for a few minutes. My skin was in its worst condition, and my acne was unbearable to look at. My beautiful skin was being attacked! lol. But that’s not all.

I also had the darkening of the skin around my neck and armpit, as well as gained weight, while my insulin level was elevated.

When I relocated in 2014, all my symptoms got worse. So, I checked in with my doctor. I was finally tested and diagnosed with a further imbalanced hormone disease. I shared my story in a post here. In this case, the recommendation was to treat the disease with medication, which was my only course of action at the time.

PCOS diagnosis symptoms are a complex and frustrating process. Every month, my symptoms were inconsistent, and, while on medication, didn’t improve much. This is where I started researching other recommendations and courses of action for treating PCOS.

mOVING FROM mEDICATION TO A PLANT-BASED APPROACH

Similarly to any disease, you find yourself facing many battles. Some you will win and others you lose. But the important fact: You should never give up! I had petrifying situations that made me appreciate life every day. Also, hearing that I might not have children was difficult and hard to digest. But, with my heavenly father, I knew there was always HOPE.

After determining that the pills and drugs weren’t working, I found another course of action that was natural and plant-based. I mentioned my plant-based journey in this post, but because my friend, who is a food scientist, introduced me to GLUTATHIONE, I have to share.

Now, do you know about this powerful antioxidant? I never heard of it! But the magic is in the antioxidants. Let me give you a peek inside this fantastic solution.

WHAT IS GLUTATHIONE

GLUTATHIONE is a natural plant-based product that assists your cells. Also, it produces a natural antioxidant, which is amazing for our body. Glutathione is present throughout the body and plays an important role. For instance, glutathione helps build strong lungs and the brain, supports cellular detoxification and the immune system, supports fertility and eye health, among other areas of the body.

Researchers link so many diseases to low glutathione production in our cells. For further study of conditions associated with low glutathione levels, see the link. As well as any woman with a hormonal imbalance.

How a Plant-Based Diet Changed My PCOS DIAGNOSIS

Let me say PCOS is treatable! So, with the help of a plant-based diet, I  felt better in my body. This means no more heavy period, no more acne, no more mood swings …. but also, I lost weight and began to feel sexy again! On another note, you won’t believe what I discovered: ovarian cysts often develop and grow in relation to hormonal shifts and, as a result, cause these cysts to become much more extensive. But also, ovarian cysts can shrink and disappear without surgery or drugs. Increasing glutathione can help prevent further ovarian cysts.

HOW TO TREAT PCOS DIAGNOSIS WEIGHT GAIN

Weight gain is popular with PCOS diagnosis because of abnormal hormonal levels in the body. So, getting your body moving is essential for PCOS. But not any workout works for someone with a PCOS diagnosis. Here are some that were recommended and worked for me.

  • Resistance training
  • HIIT Training – Jumprobe, treadmill (run at maximum speed for 2 minutes followed by walking for 3 minutes.
  • Yoga – on low-intensity days

BEST SUPPLEMENTS FOR PCOS DIAGNOSIS

If you could get all your nutrients from food, it would be amazing. But it’s difficult. Often, we do not eat enough servings of fruits and vegetables. So, here are some supplements to help you.

CONCLUSION

Because our body is amazing and the only body we will have on Earth, we have to be knowledgeable. To overcome disease, educating ourselves is essential. So, nutrition and fitness are your GPS for the journey. They are not just words but tools for a longer and healthier life. That is to say, have a healthy meal plan, daily detox, and exercise. Also, if you are interested in glutathione, you can contact me here.

So, as a PCOS patient, I am here to answer any questions. Also, I appreciate you taking the time to read my journey.
