If You Want To Be A Winner, Take These Meaningful Life Goals Now!
It’s a new year, and everyone plans life goals to end with many wins. I was auditing 2021, and I didn’t accomplish a few things, to be honest. After looking back, some of the goals were not purposeful, hence it didn’t get me the result.
This year, I ask myself, what are the things that will give me growth, peace, make me better and feel fulfilled.
So why plan meaningful goals? It’s important to note that meaningful goals lead to achievement and guide you on the purposeful things for your wellbeing.
Have you ever fallen short on your New Year’s resolution? Most of us have, and that’s because they aren’t meaningful. In fact, those New Year’s resolutions are sometimes selfless things we absolutely long for to pleasure our feelings but convey no personal growth or fulfilment, making them meaningless.
“A goal without a plan is just a wish.”
~ Antoine de Saint
As a matter of fact, this year, planning goals is all about committing my vision to the LORD and working toward meaningful things. It’s that simple!
So if you want to step into your true self and start right, here are the SMART goals at works. By smart, I mean enabling us to plan and track when we fall off progression for a specific reason.
For example, there’ll be moments where you don’t feel motivated or aligned, and that’s where your vision boards keep you motivated. When stressful circumstances arise, we need a visual reminder of what we are working towards to follow through. Likewise, most people are not committed to eating healthy and exercising when not focused, but everyone loves it when their body is in shape and feeling good.
“You cannot change your destination overnight, but you can change your direction overnight.”
Jim Rohn.

How I Plan To Achieve Meaningful Life Goals
As stated earlier, SMART goals are meaningful goals, but how do you make them. It starts with the INTENTION and asking WHY this is meaningful. You have to apply the following steps to each goal to get the result.
- Season: Setting your life goals around the season of your life is specific for taking action. Running a mile is much easier in the summer than in winter. Therefore you have to be more precise about running that mile in the winter to achieve your goal. Similarly, according to Ecclesiastes 3 our life has good and bad seasons, so not every plan will result in that year. It’s all about working with time and reflecting on the good in all things. That will motivate you.
- Working diligently: This is where you need to measure your goals. Getting in shape cannot be measured. However, taking care of your health with smaller steps can move the needles and give you a healthier body.
- Apply wisdom: You have to seek a mindset to gain a heart of wisdom for each goal. If you are setting the goal, be realistic, giving yourself a timeframe to learn, read and develop a new skill/hobby—the last part of wisdom is to know what you are working for. That way, you stay committed to taking action.
As a rule of thumb, to make the following changes, it takes 120 days to create a new habit to achieve your goals, so I recommend giving yourself at least that amount of time to accomplish balance this year.

How To Schedule Your MEANINGFUL LIFE GOALS For Life-Changing Commitment
Relational Goals: are personal, and people put a lot of effort into choosing relational goals. The following framework will help with this process.
I want to work on my relationship with____
I want to increase my time ______ with/by ______
I can begin this journey towards my goal by ________
________ is not a realistic way to achieve this, so I will start by ______
I will accomplish my realistic goal within the next ____ days enabling me to feel ____ and heard by _____
Work/Business goals: require the group’s consideration as a whole because it involves the whole workplace or your business team. It all starts by asking for (sometimes mandating) suggestions for improvement. These answers will likely be vague and non-specific, but that’s okay. We aren’t there yet. It is then your choice to orchestrate the procedure by:
It appears our business/ work biggest issue is ________
This can be done by _________ and ________
This can be made realistic by ___________
We will have achieved our goal by next _____, and we will _________ within ____ days of this accomplishment.
Physical goals: are often our worst enemy. That is why the smaller the goal, the better (at least in the beginning). As a side note, I do not recommend doing things you don’t enjoy. Get creative with your physical goals and fit them into the lifestyle you strive for so that you can see the reward for your next bigger goal. Start with this:
I want to_________________________
I will measure this by __________
I will achieve this by ________ to make it more realistic for _______
I will have _____________within______days and reap the rewards of ______.
Financial goals: it can be challenging to advise on this topic. But I find motivation by comparing income vs outcome and examining potential changes and savings that kickstart might need. Whether your financial goal involves saving for something or giving a specific amount of money to a cause at a given time, meaningful life goals still apply.
I want to purchase/give___________
I will measure this by my ability to purchase/give _________ without __________(being overwhelmed).
I will achieve this by decreasing ______________ so that I can realistically put ____ aside every ____
It will take me ________ to realistically achieve this goal and be rewarded with ______

Spiritual goals: are approached differently. This step is extraordinary where everything surrounds what God has in store for you. My happiness is finding the strength to trust God with my plans by seeking, praying, and meditating on his promises rather than making complicated moves. One approach is to set your meaningful life goals on the promises of God with yourself daily and then reflect on the progress you have made.

Final thoughts
Using a meaningful life goals format and tweaking it to align with your aspirations is vital for keeping a clear mind and not giving up. A visual also helps you reflect on your accomplishments in life when you feel like you’ve accomplished nothing. I would even consider noting the challenges you face to recognize what you can overcome by setting meaningful goals.
That’s a wrap with the key takeaway for designing my life by setting meaningful life goals this year.
