What are your thoughts on dating?
I believe in dating for a purpose. And through my walk with God, I’ve come to understand that dating is a season of getting to know someone that you would love to build a family and do life together. My experience of dating has been a trip. I’ve had moments where I was sure I knew what I wanted, and I got sidetracked and went for what was available lol.
What are the qualities you look for in dating?
The ultimate deal-breaker for me is someone without a personal relationship with God and the inability to love me. As I began to learn about God’s love for me, I began to understand my identity. I am God’s treasure. I believe that it takes a man who understands the purpose of marriage as per the Bible’s principles to be able to show some of that God-centred love in a relationship.

It’s a great place to start. It eliminates the useless stress in the relationship when you don’t have to explain your principles. Perhaps you will agree that we all save ourselves from those. There’s a lot of tension that comes up when two people are not on the same page, to begin.
What are your thoughts on modern dating?
First, is dating like going to a strawberry stand or swiping on an online app? It seems that way, but it should not be where you have so many options. If you have a specific set of things that you are looking for in a partner, you can’t just go home with what’s available at the stand. It is better to take your time and make sure it’s what you want.
Also, the person has to choose you too. Strawberries don’t get to choose. I think dating is more like a tango. First, you want a partner and while the music is playing, you both dance. Each person plays a role in each move. Finally, the music stops, and you decide if you’d like to keep on dancing or sit for a while or switch partners.
