HOW TO CONTROL PCOS WITH THE BEST SUPPLEMENTS FOR HORMONES
Hormones are essential to understand the role of your body. Because it can affect our daily life, and make you feel overwhelming. But if you are feeling overwhelmed, you’re not alone. I’ve struggled with imbalance hormones for twenty years. It was not until two years ago, I’ve added supplements in my medicine cabinet.
After all, it was my doctor’s recommendation. But if you are reading this, let me give you a little back story. I wrote a post on my PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) journey here if you want to check it out. That will give you some context about why I’ve added supplements for hormones.
Now that I’ve added supplements, I want to share that it’s okay to take it. It has improved my PCOS and controls my imbalanced hormones. So, I’ve decided to share my list of supplements for hormones. Also, the supplements that are good for PCOS and hormone imbalance.

THE BEST SUPPLEMENTS FOR HORMONES YOU SHOULD USE
So, did you know that hormones are the messengers to the body? It’s the body’s second brain. And since there are environmental factors affecting our body, it’s essential to know what is causing your imbalance hormones. Hence, taking additional supplements will improve your hormone levels. Also, supplement is an excellent addition for our mood, brain function and more.
1 – MAGNESIUM
Magnesium glycinate is a supplement that’s effective for hormonal problems – PMS, PCOS, thyroid and more. It’s one of the most important supplements for overall health, estrogen metabolism and tons of other things. Another health benefit is eating a magnesium-rich diet. On average, the level of magnesium is low in our bodies. So, according to my naturopathic magnesium works well alongside vitamin B6. 2 – OMEGA-3
Omega 3 is a critical supplement for hormone disorders. Hormonal imbalance increases inflammation, which disrupts hormones. But adding Omega 3 will improve your PCOS, insulin, lower chalestoerol levels. PS: Healthy fat is essential for brain functions and the adrenals gland. Omega 3 also reduces inflammation. Other source of omega 3 is found in fatty fish – salmon and plant-based – chia seeds.
3 – PROBIOTIC
Probiotics are essential supplements for hormones and it should be in your medicine cabinet. It’s a healthy bacteria, which improves the production and regulation of hormones. Did you know there is a link between gut health and hormone balance? A healthy gut will play an important role in your overall health. The impact of your gut can affect your mood, weight, heart, immune system and more. But adding good bacteria keeps your microbiome healthy. PS: Before using probiotics consult with your physician.

4 – VITEX
Vitex or chasteberry is a natural herb for PCOS. It’s mainly known for its ability to improve conditions affecting the woman’s reproductive system and the pituitary gland. If you are having problems with ovulation this helps regulate it. But first, seek your doctor’s guidance before adding it to your supplement.
5- MACA
Maca has a unique story. I believe a good story sells any products. Maca is root fantastic for energy and improvement of sexual function. Imbalance hormones may cause dysfunction in your sex drive. However, I use maca to balances my mood and emotional state during menstruation.
6 – EVENING PRIMROSE OIL
This supplement pair with vitamin d will help improves PCOS and regulate your menstrual cycle. PS: If you have hormonal acne, use evening primrose oil on your face.
7 – ZINC
Zinc is known to balance testosterone levels. It’s a mineral that supports the immune system and helps with hirsutism, acne and mood. And can help your hormone imbalance.

- Leptin – main role fat – It tells the brain how much fat is store in the body.
- Cortisol – main role Adrenal glands. And this is the stress hormones. It helps increase blood sugar by breaking down fat and muscle tissue.
- Oxytocin – the main role in the brain. Its also called the bonding hormone. And levels can increase during childbirth.
- Ghrelin – main role stomach. This is our appetite stimulant.
- Erythropoietin – main role Kidney.
- Angiotensin – main role Liver.
- Growth hormone – main role growth. Located in the pituitary gland.
