THE EPIC THRIFTING TIPS ON HOW TO SHOP FOR CLOTHES

How do you feel about buying second-hand clothing? I have mixed feelings about wearing someone else’s clothes. The thought of wearing someone else’s clothes repelled me, but the internet changed me. To be specific, it was an Instagram influencer.

I was convinced by the deals she got from thrifting, so I took her thrifting tips and when to score some gems. And it was good! Here is my experience and how to shop with these 5 thrifting tips.

WHAT DOES THRIFTING MEAN

First, let’s talk about the word thrifting. Thrifting is a slang. It’s shopping for cheap clothing at a store or flea market. When it comes to thrifting at charitable or consignments, understand that it’s shopping to find good quality items at a low price.

5 THRIFTING TIPS TO SCORE ITEMS

I want to go thrifting now. But I’ll help you out first with my epic thrifting tips. You can use these tips to find the best thrifting store near you. FIND THE STORE

Location is essential if you want to find cool pieces. The best thrift shop to shop is where the rich people live. Yes, the higher and best brands are placed in those locations.

HAVE A LIST IN ADVANCE

You should make a list of the must-have items. The pieces of clothing you want will be easy to find. This tip will keep your focus and not be overwhelming. I’ll also check Pinterest to create my own list.

CURATED THE STORE

When you arrive, glance around the store and learn the sections. This tip will help you know where to go, and you don’t want to waste time skimming.

WHEN YOU FIND THE ITEMS

Okay, you’ve got the items. Try them on! Don’t pick them up and go. When you try them on, you’ll know how the item fits. These are things to consider and will save you time. And if it doesn’t fit, you can leave it or get it tailored, depending on whether you love it. Keep in mind you’re getting it at a discounted price.

PROS AND CONS

Let me say that in everything, there are pros and cons. So here are the pros:

  • Go early in the morning – the store is clean and packed neatly.
  • Sign up for emails, and you will know the discount deals and special days to shop.

And the cons:

  • The items sometimes have a smell.
  • Only one piece in style/size.
  • Some things might have holes, missing buttons, or stains, so inspect the garment.
  • Buying stuff you don’t need.

I still haven’t come to terms with buying second hand clothing. But I do it with vintage designer bags and even those have a smell sometimes. But nothing some clorox wipes can’t fix lol. These are some useful tips though!
