A blueberry smoothie is my favourite in the spring and summertime, and adding protein is perfect. My easy breakfast option is to toast everything in the blender and enjoy! I call it a one-pot meal – see why it’s the powerhouse! Blueberries are a powerhouse.

This superfood is high in antioxidants, including phytoflavinoids, as well as potassium and vitamin C, which are among the top nutritionists’ benefits. Because of the benefits, blueberries can regulate hormones, help fend off heart disease, cancer, brain ageing and much more.

I called this smoothie the powerhouse because it has all the superfoods for a filling breakfast, and also a way to intake some of your daily nutrition. This powerhouse smoothie is high in protein. In general, I go for high protein due to my PCOS.

Pumpkin seeds are a good source of minerals, especially zinc and iron. Adding pumpkin seeds together with ground flaxseeds is wondrous for hormone balancing or hormone-related issues.
