10 WAYS ON HOW TO BE PRODUCTIVE AT HOME

As I prepared these creative tips, I hope you become aware of how you perceive and use time. We are all given the same 24 hours, but it’s how you direct your energy. With that said, I hope these productive things help with how you interpret time.

TIP 1 – Put your brain to work

First thing, first, use the time to engage the brain. Take a moment to write down things you want to do or study, but just couldn’t find the time. For instance, what is one thing that would make a tremendous positive difference in your personal life? Remember, you are your creator; you are in charge, so let your imagination go wild. With that, here are some ideas.

  • Join Coursera – there are 190 + universities and companies to achieve your goals with lots of free courses. I have also taken two courses, and they were useful.
  • Learn a new language – Duolingo is a free and good app.
  • Join Skillshare- take your creative skills further and optimize your skills.
  • And if you are looking for something light, watch a Ted talk and take notes.

TIP 2 -Be proactive with your health

Are there any healthy habits you’ve started or want to start? Nutrition is a good start. This has helped me to eat well. After all, the nutrients in the food determine whether our bodies thrive (or not). So, be proactive with a nutrient plan. Here are my pieces of advice:

  • Buy a new cookbook and try a new menu
  • Learn to bake
  • Watch cooking channel, Netflix, or YouTube – I love Picklelimes and Fork Over Knives
  • Create a new menu plan

TIP 3 – Go back to the basic training

I value the basic things in life and around me. So, why not use this time for a DIY project? My best DIY is home decor or interior.

  • DIY your work-at-home desk
  • Recover your decorative pillows
  • Wallpaper or paint an accent wall
  • Plant an indoor garden
  • Repot your house plants
  • Build a new desk, media stand, bench or stool

You have unlimited ideas and opportunities to be a teacher and a student, so put your hands to work. lol

TIP 4 – Find inner peace with a bible study

Hey, listen, while you were busy with life, use this time to seek inner peace. We all need God’s encouragement to be still and know that He has us covered. Hence, find a devotional plan and learn from it. I also believe in the word of the Lord and the power to restore. I usually spend 1 hour in the morning seeking the Lord.

TIP 5- Declutter your life

And clutter is a big one for me! If this is a problem for you too, let’s devote some time to this tip. Actually, I find it different to let go of stuff. Yeah, I would hold on to things for years. So, tackle this project by printing a sheet with the room, items and let us declutter.

  • The kitchen pantry
  • Shoe closet /Coat closet
  • The bookshelf
  • And yes, the basement you have been forsaking
  • The makeup and skincare basket/drawer
  • The 1000+ emails

TIP 7 – Start a family

Let us get real for a moment. If you are married and have been attempting to start a family, do it now! I hesitate to add this point. To be honest, family is essential. This is especially true when so many women have fertility issues.

TIP 8 – Find a new hobby

Are you thinking about starting something new? Here is my practical hobby.

  • Word search puzzle
  • Learn to sew – YouTube is good
  • Create a YouTube channel/blog/ business profile
  • Learn to do nail art
  • Photography

TIP 9 – Fix your finances

When it comes to money, I usually don’t like giving advice, but here is my advice and feel productive:

  • Review your retirement plan
  • Get a life insurance/critical illness policy
  •  Investment plan
  • Create a budget plan
  • Google some side hustle to make extra coins
  • Have a debt-free plan – Excel is great for creating templates

TIP 10 – Busy is not productive

Often, we think being busy is productive, but this tip is to focus on the important things in life. So, use this tip to ponder on your happiness and the ‘HAVE.’
